In what was a repeat of the 2017 Beko Netball League final, the defending champions Central came up against our own Hellers Mainland side in the opening round of the 2018 season, at Te Rauparaha Arena on Sunday 13 May.
This was a closely fought encounter, with Central getting away to a five-goal lead at the first break. However, the Hellers Mainland team came back with solid defence and shooting to win the second, third and fourth quarters, taking out the match 52 to 49.
The Hellers Mainland team’s next game is in Sunday 20 May, when they take on the Northern Comets at the High Wire Trust Gym in Papakura.
