We work alongside five Zones and 79 Netball Centres to deliver quality experiences to more than 144,000 registered members and over 300,000 annual participants. Mainland Netball Zone (MN) is home to 16 Centres and plays a key role in engaging tamariki, rangatahi and adults in our game.
About the Role
This full-time, fixed-term role is employed by NNZ and based in the Mainland Zone. You'll work closely with Mainland Netball Centre staff and volunteers to lead participation initiatives, with a focus on participation across the board.
Your key priorities will include:
Leading the development and delivery of a regional Participation Plan aligned with the NNZ Participation Strategy.
Supporting Centres to collect and use data (e.g. Voice of Participant, membership insights) to inform local planning and programming.
Building capability across the delivery network to grow quality experiences in the futureFERNS and Player Development Programmes.
Supporting initiatives like Balance is Better, Good Sports, No Limits, and youth leadership programmes.
Championing inclusive, innovative, and community-led participation opportunities, from traditional formats to social and modified offerings.
About You
We’re looking for someone with experience in community sport development—preferably in Netball— and a passion for growing participation. You’ll bring:
Knowledge of the sporting sector, especially community or youth sport. Skills in data analysis and applying insights to support local delivery.
A proven ability to support, educate and upskill volunteers and staff. Strong relationship-building skills with a wide range of stakeholders. Excellent communication and planning skills.
A collaborative approach with a can-do, participant-first mindset.
Flexibility to work outside traditional hours (evenings and weekends) is essential.
