Hellers Mainland Beko netball team had a successful trip to Auckland winning their Round 3 game against the Northern Marvels on Saturday 26th May by 53-51 goals.

 Hellers Mainland made a strong start creating many turnovers in the first half. With new combinations on court this week, we saw some fun and flair in the attack end.

Captain Nicola Mackle lead the team strongly with a consistent, dynamic defensive game at WD, having moved from her familiar position of C. She also proved very valuable by driving the ball through the court effectively to link with attacking players.

In the final quarter the Marvels came out firing, taking Hellers Mainland by surprise, winning the last quarter 15-7 with strong attacking play. However, Hellers Mainland managed to hold the lead to take the victory by two goals.

The Hellers Mainland team have their first home game of the season on Sunday 3rd June at 5.40 p.m. against WBOP at the EA Networks Centre in Ashburton (coincides with the Mainland Zone U15 tournament).  Get along and support the team!
