Mainland Netball Zone are pleased to announce the appointments of Bernadette Pinnell and Ric Horsfall to the Mainland Netball Zone Board.
Bernadette brings extensive experience in international sport, community recreation and events coupled with commercial acumen. She has recently returned to Christchurch after 15 years in Australia where she worked as a project manager for the Sydney Olympics, established a sport and recreation consultancy and completed a number of strategic plans for sporting organisations and local government.
Bernadette has worked in Papua New Guinea and Malaysia with Netball organisations to leverage their roles in bringing broader social development objectives including population health, social inclusion and gender empowerment. She is committed to assisting the Mainland Netball Zone Board in developing the sport of Netball and the organisation.
Ric Horsfall is currently Sales Manager of The Radio Network based in Christchurch. He offers a wide range of skills to the Mainland Netball Zone Board including management expertise in a wide range of industry sectors including IT, retail, franchising, media and the building industry.
A strategic thinker, Ric holds a degree in Social Science from Lincoln University and is associated with three cricket Boards in the Canterbury region demonstrating his passion for sports governance as a whole.
Bernadette and Ric replace the outgoing pair of Noeline Ward and Andrew Britt.
They join Mainland Netball Zone Board Chair Anne Marett, Mainland Netball Zone CEO Brigit Hearn, Tim Kerr, Jan Barber, Doug Milne and Vicki Reid.
